Statistics with STATA

by: Lawrence C. Hamilton

Stata provides various statistical solutions for a variety of disciplines

Statistics with Stata is a new book by Lawrence Hamilton which is designed as a text book for new users. A step by step with plenty of examples, the author introduces the reader to possible statistical models available in STATA. The book starts with basic commands for organizing data and ends with some advanced programming. I recommend this book for those who have decided to use STATA, but have previous experience with other statistical packages. My experience with other packages such as SPSS, AMOS, Mplus, and Statistica allows me to smoothly adopt STATA and learn where it provides additional features that I couldn't use with the others. For example, STATA provides nice post-estimation analyses for multinomial dependent variable models and strong time series instruments. As a statistical consultant I tried STATA several times on my own, but this book has provided me with the necessary support to use it more successfully.
