Multiple Regression with Discrete Dependent Variables (Pocket Guides to Social Work Research Methods)

by John G. Orme

Multiple regression with discrete dependent variable by Orme and Combs-Orme

There are many books on regression analysis in the market, some of which also deal with discrete dependent variables as opposed to continuous, but this book seems to function as a handbook or a manual which we all need whenever we run statistics of any kind. In my work as a statistical consultant I have these needs all the time, but it is too difficult to open one of the heavy books on regression I have. Instead, I keep this one available and find that it never disappoints me, always providing answers. The authors go step by step into the statistics of discrete models, what they do in comparison to standard linear regression models, how to correctly  interpretthe estimates, and how to use estimates for predicting probability. This is what I use when I want to explain results to scholars for whom I run statistics. I recommend the book for beginners as well as intermediates.
